Delinquent School Lunch Accounts Fox Hollow Utah

I grew up very poor.  My family always had food, but it was a struggle everyday.  At school, we qualified for the reduced cost lunch program, but even the reduced cost was a struggle from time to time.  Times were different then.  It was my understanding that if you didn't have the money, you didn't get a school lunch.  There were days that I skipped lunch or just choose the cheapest option possible to make my lunch account balance last longer.  I always had a good excuse as to why I wasn't eating.  I lived in constant fear that someone would find out my secret though.  Fast forward to today.  No student is turned away from eating lunch, though it may be a "special" lunch for students whose lunch account balances were too far in the negative.  Imagine the embarrassment these kids feel as they sit down to eat their "special" lunch, knowing that every other child at that table knows what your lunch really means.  At this time of year, there are stories of celebrities and wealthy people paying off store layaway accounts or other debts.  I don't have the money to pay off the delinquent lunch account balances at Fox Hollow Elementary or I would.  But I hoped as a community, we could make a difference for those struggling students and families.  My goal is to raise enough money to pay off all the delinquent student lunch accounts at Fox Hollow Elementary School in West Jordan, Utah.  If you'd rather, you can contact your local schools and make donations directly to their nutrition programs.  Let help those struggling families have one less thing to worry about.  Thank you for making a difference in a child's life.
