Delinda's Cancer Fund

Donación protegida

Hello. I would like to take a few moments out of your day to introduce you to our mom. Her name is Delinda. She recently celebrated her 48th birthday. She also was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer. The devastating news came only days after having said her final goodbyes to her dad. Our grandpa had battled brain cancer for over a year and it was during that time that my mom searched for the cause of her constant pain and fatigue. Specialist after specialist turned her away, unable to determine what was wrong. Finally, after a screening revealed the source, her doctor delivered the news, shocked to see this type of cancer in someone so young.

(Delinda's Dad (Grandpa), Mom (Grandma) with Delinda's children... Naomi, Theron and Tommy)

Delinda is currently raising three kids, myself having left the nest at 18. Tommy is now 19, Theron is 17 and Naomi’s 15th birthday is around the corner. Not only is she providing for three teenagers, she’s doing it single-handedly and has been for nearly 10 years now. Anyone who knows my mom knows how kind, funny, and generous she is with the little that she has. A counselor, a volunteer, a hug, a shoulder to cry on…she has many roles that she never fails to uphold. Consequently, anyone who knows my mom knows how reluctant she can be when offered help. She’s the type of person who would never want her struggles to become a burden on others. But here we are. This diagnosis has stopped us in our tracks and we are overwhelmed.

Naomi, Theron, Delinda, Devon and Tommy

Our mom’s treatment will begin with a bout of chemotherapy and radiation in an attempt to shrink the tumor. Hopefully, once the tumor has shrunk, her doctors will move forward with surgery to remove it. It is during these months and months of treatments, doctors’ appointments, and recovery that she will be missing weeks of work and pay. As the sole provider for four people, missing that much work while responsible for paying all their obligations will be impossible. Our gorgeous, fiery, strong-willed mom has the most challenging fight ahead of her and she knows she cannot do this alone.

Our goal: To pay for her rent for a year. Delinda needs all the strength to face and fight this illness. The constant worry about how she will make ends meet will be difficult to overcome while also focusing all her energy on this battle ahead. Taking the financial strain of monthly rent off her plate for 1 year during this time will give her and my siblings peace of mind, and will be such a wonderful, beautiful blessing for our family.

Your donation through this website will go straight into a Delinda Triplett Cancer Donation Fund. These funds will only be available for the purpose to pay for her monthly rent. It cannot be used for any other purpose. Your support is not only critical, but it is beyond appreciated. For those that want to help, but are not sure how, please know that any donation of any amount will help her and the kids tremendously. To everyone willing to support Delinda, we cannot thank you enough. We are so grateful for your help, your support, and your love during this very difficult time.

Thank you.

Love,
Devon, Tommy, Theron, and Naomi
