Support Delia with her family’s medical bills

Hi my name is Jinny and I am raising funds for my dear friend Delia. Delia is 75 years old, a mother, and grandmother to several grandkids. I have known Delia for 3 years and she has been a friend, confidant, and grandmother to our pets.

Her husband, 87 years old, recently had a 2 month stay at a hospital due to a serious lung infection. During that time, she worked full time as a house cleaner while visiting her husband everyday at the hospital. She does not have the luxury of taking paid leave as many of us do and needed to put aside her own self care and worries in order to pay the bills and take care of her husband.

Her husband has thankfully since been discharged and on the road to recovery. However, they have amounted significant medical bills and more bills ahead as he has a lot of physical therapy work to do, doctor appointments to go to, and medications to take for the foreseeable future.

This fundraiser would be incomplete without a background story on Delia’s life which is a testament to the amazing person she is. She is originally from Guatemala and early in her life, she was married to her ex-husband who was not faithful to her. His infidelity resulted in a child whom she adopted as her own as her ex-husband and the mother of the child did not want their son.

She raised him beautifully and brought him over to the United States in search of a better life for her and her son. She settled in NYC and met her now husband who was a superintendent of the building she lived in. They are still happily married and raves about their only son and child.

Delia deserves to be taken care of the way she has taken care of others. I hope this fundraiser will help alleviate some financial and emotional stress in her family’s life.
