Aug 30, 2017 seemed like just another day.
My nephew Delbert was out and about riding his bike,
doing what young boys do when it all came to a crashing halt......While riding his bike down the sidewalk, he lost control and crashed his bike
Complaining of severe stomach pain he was taken to Flagstaff Medical Center for examination where it was discovered that he had internal bleeding and was medevacked by helicopter down to Childrens Hospital of Phoenix and diagnosed with a ruptured Intestine and taken in for emergency surgery.....
Update: After 5 hours of surgery with 3 surgeons, his situation is stable....He is in the ICU unit.
Speaking to the doctors has given us a little bit of Information and Hope...they fixed the damage but he will have a long and painfull recovery with a minimum of 2 -4 weeks at the hospital and months of healing afterward.
Theresa (his mom) is the only provider in the household, and will not be able to return to work for a long time, she has requested FMLA from her employer. I cannot imagine the financial worry she must have and it is the last thing she needs to think about right now. I decided to do this Go Fund Me for her to give her one thing less to worry about so she can focus on Delbert. If you can donate anything to help it will be greatly appreciated.
