Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our page as we move toward the beginning of the end of our journey to become parents.

We have been ecstatically married since 2009, but we have a special place in our collective heart for that soul who is meant to fill out our little family.

Three years ago we discovered this dream may be more of a challenge for us than most people face. Amanda was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), a common reproductive condition many women face, a condition we know now makes conception for us very, very unlikely. We've been through a broad range of treatments "“ Western, Eastern, Naturopathic all included "“ with very limited success.

In 2012, with the help of a combination of treatments and a lot of trial and error, we finally did conceive. But the pregnancy shortly ended in a spirit-crushing miscarriage that nearly defeated our resolve.

Only through time, a lot of prayers and well wishes, and holding onto each other tightly, did we make it through that very dark period. We've come out the other side knowing that we are childless parents whose path to our baby, while suffering a detour, is now clearly marked. And the vehicle that will get us to our destination will be adoption.

We've come through to the other side fully understanding what a selfless gift and priceless opportunity adoption is "“ especially for two people who have been through the seemingly endless frustration of infertility.

We embark on this next phase with a deep, unending appreciation for the miracle of procreation, and with an unquestionable vow that we will never, ever take our child and the gift of parenthood for granted.

But now we face the logistics "“ the nitty-gritty of the adoption process.

We will be entering the infant adoption programs through Christian Family Adoptions. We felt an instant connection to this agency, which has been operating in the Portland, Oregon, area since the 1950s. All told, the program is going to cost us $20,000-25,000, which we are financing through a low-interest loan.

We are prepared to pinch every penny to make our dream come true, and we do not want to ask people for money. Rather we want to share our story and provide an opportunity for those who wish to invest in our future family, at whatever amount seems reasonable.

Whether you wish to donate or simply have taken the time to get to know our story, we thank you deeply from the bottom of our hearts. We could not have gotten this far without the love and support of family, friends, acquaintances, and perfect strangers, and we know we will only be successful from this point forward because of the continued grace of these lifelines.

With our love and gratitude,

Jeff and Amanda Delapena
