Delaney's Cancer Treatment Costs

As owners of a small country Vermont inn, our Facebook posts and newsletters to subscribers usually consist of the self promoting (hopefully a soft sell) of our inn. Today - not so soft - but more worthy.
For two years Delaney Sweet Werneke (15) has been battling a rare form of cancer (Osteosarcoma), undergoing chemo, more than one major surgery and treatments that I can neither pronounce nor spell. Your contribution is critical. Every day new challenges arise with this rare and aggressive form of cancer. Delaney is the daughter of Karrie (and Bill) who is a local resident in the Town of Fletcher, Town Clerk, formerly our inn manager and, most importantly, friend.
The emotional, physical, and financial costs on the entire family are simply unimaginable. Insurance only goes so far. Now, they have just made the decision to retain the Cleveland Clinic to co-ordinate treatment with the University of Vermont Medical Center. While perhaps the best medical decision, this will only add to these burdens. Through it all, the entire family has shown a strength and courage the rest of us can only hope we would have if facing the same challenges.
We want to help them in this time of stress and hope you will as well. The size (1200) and rural nature of our community impacts on the ability to raise money so we have chosen a different path.
In the hopes of raising at least $ 25,000.00 to help our neighbors we are turning to gofundme.com with its national and international reach.
As an additional incentive, we have come up with the idea of a chance to receive any three gifts . Each donation of at least $ 25.00 will be entered with a chance to win any of the three gifts. Jacquie Schwartz ( Vermont Folk Artist) has contributed one of her folk art paintings. She creates reverse painting on the glass of old but restored windows. (see http://homepages.sover.net/~buckholl/yost.htm for some of her other creations) This will be first prize, along with one free night at our inn(www.buckhollow.com), so you can be presented with your gift. We will of course ship if needed. Second place winner will receive two nights at the inn, while third place will be one free night.
