Teach Abroad Spain (Language Assistant)

Hello everyone!!! My dream is to teach abroad in Spain for the 2014-2015 school year. The program that I have applied for is through CIEE: The Council on International Educational Exchange. I have looked into other programs in Spain as well but this program appealed to me more because they help you with your VISA, insurance, and more. The Teach Abroad Spain program pays less than the other programs because it is not a full time position. instead of being the lead teacher, like I have been for 7 years, I will become an assistant teaching small groups English for 12-16 hours a week. This means that I will not make as much money as I would be teaching here in Las Vegas or even teaching in another country.
By accepting this position in Spain, I am agreeing to get paid 1/3 of my current salary. I just cannot pass up the opportunity to learn about a different culture and become more fluent in the spanish language. therefore, I plan to participate in the 2-week immersion program and become TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) certified as well. During the immersion program, I will attend introductory orientation in Madrid and take language courses to prepare me to live and teach in Spain.
The 2 week immersion program with TESL/TEFL certification will cost $4,400. With this all being said, I am reaching out to you in attempts to raise money for my flight and the immersion fees which will sum up to around $5,600. If I don't do this now, during this stage of my life, I probably will never do it. Please help me attain this goal!! Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.
