During these certain uncertain, uneasy, and, albeit, somewhat terrifying times, we have been forced to temporarily close our doors as of March 15, 2020. We have had to postpone upcoming Exhibition Openings, a key source of revenue for us. Sadly, we are also unable to celebrate our First Anniversary, coming up in the beginning of April!
We have a wonderful website and online shop to visit. Right now, we are asking for your support, for our Gallery and for our Artists ( we have 30+, local and national). Your donations would be used for immediate expenses, such as rent and utilities, so that we will be ready to reopen our doors when the time comes. Our Story:
Deja 42 Art Gallery is an amazing gallery and retail art space located in South Philadelphia. Deja 42 is the creation of D.K. Barbieri and Jenifer R. Stern. We are two artists and art educators that met in the late Nineties, and have have constantly collaborated together and have been nigh inseparable since then. Our dedication to our respective muses has been unstoppable. We bring this creativity, dedication, and devotion to everything we endeavor.
Artists, established and emerging, need a venue to sell their work. Collectors, decorators, homeowners, apartment dwellers need a venue to purchase unique, expressive and individual objects. The area of East Passyunk Avenue in Philadelphia is vibrant and thriving, rife with varied restaurants of diverse cuisines, established residents, and a newer, younger population moving in to create their own histories in this wonderful neighborhood. Deja 42 Art Gallery offers so much not only to the new urban community and well-established community, but to artists seeking to contribute to this community.
Based on our experience as artists, Deja 42 sees the need for a fair and unequivocal venue to exhibit. We recognize that everyone would like to learn and grow, whether through the appreciation of finely crafted artwork, collecting interesting and unusual statement pieces, or through art classes, offered for both children and adults in a fun and non-judgmental environment.
