In December of 2010, a tragic accident occurred. My father, who suffered from mental health issues as well as alcoholism, shot me in the head, shot my mother, and killed himself.
Although I survived, I became a spastic quadriplegic due to a brain injury. 

Losing both of my parents and my ability to move in one night, was something I never thought could happen to my family. It deeply saddens me that my father was suffering so badly that he committed this horrible act.

Everything was taken away from me that night. My ability to brush my teeth, dress myself, use the bathroom alone, walk, and work. Fortunately, my brother Billy was not home that night, and has been an enormous help and aid in my life after my injury. Without him, I don't know where I would be today. I am also lucky to have a big, loving family and many friends, that have come together to help me as well.

I am asking for donations to help with the cost of my in-home aides that I pay up to $50,000 a year, out of pocket, and my physical therapy and rehab to off-set the many complications that quadriplegics endure.
