Help Fund a Public Records Investigation & Potential Litigation in Athens, GA

I am raising $1,500 to obtain critical public records needed for an investigation into government surveillance technology and its use in our community.

These records are not being requested simply out of curiosity. They are needed to determine what surveillance equipment is being used, what information it can collect, how it is configured, who has access to the information, how long information is retained, and whether the system is capable of capturing activity inside areas where residents have a reasonable expectation of privacy.

Why These Records Matter

The public has a right to understand how government surveillance systems operate and how taxpayer-funded technology is being used.

The requested records may include technical documentation, contracts, policies, system capabilities, access information, configuration information, and other records necessary to establish the facts.

At this stage, I am not asking anyone to accept an allegation as proven. The purpose of this investigation is to obtain the underlying evidence and determine what the records actually show.

What Your Donation Will Fund

The immediate fundraising goal is $3,500, which are the invoiced costs associated with obtaining the necessary records.

Funds may be used for:

- Public-records retrieval and reproduction

- Digital records and video

- Certified records and documentation

- Evidence preservation and storage

- Technical examination and organization of records

- Filing and litigation-related expenses, if warranted

If the records establish grounds for further legal action, additional funds may be needed for filing fees, service, expert review, legal research, and other litigation expenses.

Why I'm Asking for Your Help

Government surveillance affects more than one individual. The information obtained through this investigation could help answer important questions about privacy, transparency, accountability, and the limits of government surveillance technology.

Every contribution—whether $5, $25, $50, or $100—helps move this investigation forward.

Fundraising Goal: $3,500

Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser.

The goal is simple:

Get the records. Establish the facts. Protect privacy. Demand accountability where the evidence supports it.

Thank you to everyone who helps support transparency and the public's right to know.
