De-fibrillator for Aldwark Scouts Activity Centre

Matt, Jo, Tim & Helen are taking part in the Skipton TOUGH MUDDER July 2019 to raise money to fund an AED (Defibrillator) for ALDWARK SCOUTS ACTIVITY CENTRE.

Please support us in achieving our goal to raise enough funds to pay for this life saving bit of kit: The Heartsine 500P with wall braket and sign.

Some startling facts:
 *12 people under the age of 35 die each week in the UK from sudden cardiac arrest

*270 children die from sudden cardiac arrest in schools in the Uk each year

*for every minute it takes for the defibrillator to reach someone and deliver a shock, their chances of survival reduces by up to 10%

* if a defibrillator is used within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, survival rates jump from 6% to 74%

As the nearest community defibrillators are in Aldwark or Great Ouseburn, collection of one of these would not be possible within the 3-5 minute timeframe in an emergency, so we need our own AED at the Activity Centre.
