<div>We are Justin and Corrie Purvis, creators of the world’s greatest movie trivia card game, Movie Buff. We are here to ask for help fighting a legal case to protect our ownership of Movie Buff.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We have been fighting this case since 2020. It arose out of an agreement to take over the production and distribution of our card game in 2016. We can't go into more detail here as we would like, but the details of the case are publicly available to read online.

</div>

<div>We created Movie Buff in 2014, based on a bar game Justin used to play with all of the other movie/theater nerds and cinephiles at University of Maryland, College Park. The game is simple, you connect at least four pieces of trivia, using your cards, to one movie and then jump to a new movie, until someone gets rid of their cards, winning the game.

</div>

<div>We loved making this game. We scraped, clawed, and willed this magical unicorn into creation- putting our whole hearts into its genesis and sacrificing more than we could have imagined. The fact that it was so well received is beyond humbling and we were so proud to have created something our fans and friends love playing as much as we loved making!

</div>

<div>This lawsuit was filed in the U.S. and it has been life-changingly expensive. We both come from a working-class background - Justin is a blind veteran creator based in the US, and Corrie is still recovering from a head on collision, which required surgery to fuse four of her cervical vertebrae. As you can imagine, this whole thing has had a devastating effect on our mental health, and a massive struggle for the past 4 years. We have never been through anything like this before. It has had an overwhelming effect on our life, on our ability to work, and our ability to enjoy things day by day.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We are proud to have funded our way through this case so far, but we have reached the point where we can no longer do this on our own. We have had to sell our home, shutter our brick and mortar storefront, and take loans from our family (that we never wanted to have to do) We haven't felt able to talk about this much publicly, until now. Your kind donations will help cover the legal fees we currently owe, and support the cause. Any funds that may be left over once the case is finished will be given to National Down Syndrome Association, to help families like ours who have been blessed to have a child with Down Syndrome.

</div>

</div>

<div>Thank you to everyone for your support- it means the world! We are grateful to have such wonderful fans! And thank you to all of our amazing friends and family who have been an emotional support through these particularly rough times.
