<div>The charity that manages and protects the Malvern Hills, the Malvern Hills Trust, is pushing ahead with a new Malvern Hills Bill in Parliament.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thanks to our amazing members and supporter we were able to get expert legal support in presenting the case against the Bill to the Lord Select committee.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We all await its findings, whilst the Trust have made many amendments, they still want an organisation that is unaccountable, undemocratic and not transparent.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>There are still TEN gagged Trustees</strong>, all of whom are barred from key discussions and decisions on the Bill.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>The Trust told Parliament that levy payers have “no special interest” in the Malvern Hills</strong>,<strong> </strong>and therefore shouldn't be allowed to argue against the Bill, despite being forced to fund the Trust through a compulsory annual charge.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If proof were ever needed that the Trust is acting in contempt of levy payers, this is it.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Anyone who questions the Bill is denied a voice.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The Trust is spending close to £500,000 of these very levy payers’ money pushing the Bill through Parliament, and the amount still continues to rise.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We at the Malvern Environment Protection Group (MEPG) believe this situation cannot go unchallenged. We are aiming to raise £15,000 to obtain independent legal advice from charity and parliamentary specialists to look at:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>• The Trust’s position on rejecting levy payer petitions
</div>
<div>• Whether these trustee exclusions are lawful
</div>
<div>• Whether the Trust’s governance processes comply with charity and public law
</div>
<div>• What can be done to restore accountability and representation
</div>
<div>• And to provide advice during the Bill’s progress through Parliament
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every donation will go directly towards legal costs and the publication of a clear, independent opinion that can be shared with levy payers, the House of Lords, MPs, and the wider community.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you believe that the people and their elected representatives should not be silenced, and that the people of Malvern deserve honesty, openness, and a real say in how their Hills are governed, please support this campaign.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is about fairness, democracy, and trust itself. Together, we can help restore all three.
