Our neighborhood just north of the Sonoma City limits is under attack. Sonoma County and a local developer are trying to upzone a handful of parcels on Donald St. (behind the geodesic dome church on Verano) that are currently protected from over-development by our General Plan. In January of 2022, Permit Sonoma plans to issue a Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) on the Springs Specific Plan. We anticipate the plan will recommend adding over 500 new housing units on Donald St. alone. We, the residents of Donald St, Robinson Road, Verano Avenue, Lomita, Michael, Ernest, and other neighbors have selected an excellent attorney and expert witnesses. Now we are raising the funds needed to retain them. This campaign is 100% volunteer organized. We ask you to give generously, and already have several donors lined up ready to match your contributions.
