DEFAMED (ex-Drown In Sulphur members)
Hey!
I'm Mattia, ex-vocalist of Drown In Sulphur.
I wish I was writing to you today to bring you exciting Drown In Sulphur news, but today I’m speaking to bring you way sadder news.
Drown In Sulphur is no longer the band you know: Simone, Max, Enrico and myself are no longer a part of it.
Here’s the sad story I wish I never had to tell you:
Domenico, the drummer of the band, took Drown In Sulphur away from us. He kicked everybody out and kept the band to himself.
We lost access to all the accounts of the band (email, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, the band website, digital distributor - all the accounts related to Drown In Sulphur).
It was unexpected, totally out of our control and we were shocked by the brutal turn of events. Before we understood what was happening, Drown In Sulphur was already away from us.
No matter the reasons Domenico is putting forward, we could never agree with these methods and we felt betrayed by one of ours.
This said, we won’t stop making music. At the start of it all, we were a group of friends who wanted to play music together, have good times and share those good times with as many people as possible. This is why we’re excited to present you our new project DEFAMED.
We've already started to write new songs, new lyrics, we'll be back on stage sooner than what you think and we can't wait to share a beer with you at a show and drop more breakdowns in your ears.
So, long story short, Simone, Max, and myself have started DEFAMED and we can't wait to release new material.
As you can imagine, starting all of this on our own from zero will be hard. So if you want to support us in this new adventure, we created a GoFundMe. Any help is welcome - no matter if it’s a share, a like, a comment, a donation. Your support means a lot. And we thank you all for taking the time to read our story.
Regarding what DEFAMED is going to be, we had a lot of ideas on where we wanted to go with the band and we really want to keep doing music the way we envisioned it, which means quality first.
You’ll find below what we have in mind for the future of DEFAMED:
- records: we’d like to record a whole EP and share the new content with you as soon as possible
- videos: we’d like to shoot videos for a couple of singles we’ll release before the release of the EP itself
- the visual conception of the whole band through multiples artworks (singles artworks, EP artwork, merch designs…)
- we’d love to start a new dressing room with unicorns and butterflies t-shirts - what are we talking about? we want to create t-shirts with an unreadable deathcore logo, that’s how we like them!
- CDs print
- and the last big piece of cake is the promotion
