Defamation action against Ms Tash Peterson

Bicton Veterinary Clinic is an independent small family-owned business that has serviced the local community for almost 16 years with its current owners running the practice since 2019. At Bicton Veterinary Clinic we provide a high standard of veterinary care that relies on the goodwill and ongoing support from the community. At Bicton Veterinary Clinic we have a zero-tolerance policy of intimidation, peddling false, misleading, defamatory information, bullying and harassment towards our team and will call it out as it occurs.

The veterinary industry is often a hard and unforgiving industry to those who work in it. It involves long hours, dedication, stress, has a high dropout rate of qualified veterinarians and veterinary nursing staff, and a high suicide rate. On average a person in the veterinary industry dies every 12 weeks. Even this veterinary clinic and its team members have not escaped with a recent suicide.

On Friday (24/09/2021) an incident occurred at Bicton Veterinary Clinic which has left several members of this clinic extremely traumatised. Furthermore, this incident along with defamatory comments and innuendos has subsequently been published on Facebook to the detriment of our team members and our business.

Given the publication, implications and defamatory comments, we are launching a civil action by way of defamation against Ms Tash Peterson, Mr Jack Higgs and the business V-Gan Booty in the Supreme Court of Western Australia.

These cases are notoriously expensive to run, therefore we are seeking help from you, the community, the people of Perth, the people of Western Australia and beyond to help us finance this court action. This legal action is not about revenge, but to bring accountability to those people named above for their actions, intimidation, bullying and harassment to others who are just trying to work and run a law-abiding family-owned business.

We ask the community to continue to support us now more than ever through this difficult time.
