Dee's Cancer Relief

Doreda Preston is 51 years young as of November. She has dedicated her entire life to nurturing, sculpting and raising her children, grand-children, and her countless nieces and nephews. She is the kind of woman that selflessly gives her last dollar to another person, and never wonders why they needed it. She is a true humanitarian, who believes in the power of love and forgiveness; of understanding and trust; and of acceptance and tolerance. She is a wonderful woman and an amazing mother… and last month she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cervical Cancer.

The cancer has spread through her uterus and could potentially reach her stomach. She is starting Chemo and radiation therapy soon. Dr. Thatcher, at the Sacred Heart Hospital, said she would be treated at the Cancer Center on NW Drive in Spokane. It will be a long and painful 8 to 12 week process. He warns that she will be sick and weak during the struggle, far more so than she is already.

Doreda works at the local Casino as a sanitation specialist. Her minimal salary is just enough to cover the bills and keep food in the house, if barely. Even so, she does her best to give a warm smile to everyone around her and to help people where she can. However, her income has come to a crashing halt since the pain of her cancer. She is now struggling to make her house and car payments on time. 

Every dollar donated here will be spent on giving this wonderful woman the time she needs to heal; without forcing her to continue to work full time.
