Deer-Car Crash

I’m Zulhilmi Bin Omar, a junior student currently studying in Penn State University, University Park. On 21st of November 2017, 4 of my friends and I were involved in a car accident at highway I-80 Elkhart, Indiana on our way to Chicago. My friend, Syafiq Ahmad, who was driving the car at that time saw a deer crossing the highway and tried to avoid it. But to no avail, we struck the deer. Our car was severely damaged. But luckily no one had any major injuries. Only Amirul Firdaus who was sitting at the passenger front seat sustained a minor injury.

After 3 months of the accident, our insurance, Allianz Travel Insurance, responded to our claim and said they are unable to cover the accident fee. The reason is because the driver of the vehicle during the accident was, Syafiq Ahmad, but the renter was Zulhilmi Omar. Syafiq Ahmad was not in the authorized driver of the rental car – resulted in a violation of the rental car agreement. The week after we received this news, the Enterprise (the rental car) contacted me and told me that we have to pay for the damage of the car within the next 10 days, which is from 1/24/2018 till 2/2/2018. We were very surprised from the news knowing that we have to settle the payment within only 10 days. We have tried to negotiate with the rental car company to extend the due date, but due to their policy, they couldn’t accept our request.

Currently, we are in short of $2000 from the total amount of $11918.33 that we have to pay 9 days from now. We could have definitely pay the full amount if only we are given more time. But, we didn’t manage to get the due date extension. Therefore, we sincerely appreciate any amount of donation that you are willing to give to us. We hope we are able to pay the fee within the given time and thank you so much for reading.
