My name is Phyllis Chappell and I'm opening this account for my friend Pamela "DeeDee" Smith. Initially, I started this story with details about the first time DeeDee fought breast cancer but after some reflection I realized that the multiple surgeries, the devestating treatments, the end of her marriage and the loss of her home don't really tell the story of the person she is.
DeeDee's story is about her faith. Sure, she has her moments but through everything her faith has only grown stonger. Those that reach out to comfort her come away comforted themselves. She is a shining example of the difference between having a religion and having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She's an inspiration to all who know her.
DeeDee is mother to a 15 year old daugher. Not only is DeeDee funny, she has a child like wonder that you just can't help but get caught up in. She has an amazing voice and is a lover of people and animals alike.
Unfortunately, Deedee's cancer is back. Big time. She is unable to work or drive and is looking at multiple rounds of chemo and radiation. God has provided a way for her medical bills to be paid but she's going to need help for the next few months with living expenses.
