DeeDee's Cancer Journey
Donation protected
As many of you know, 2021 was a challenging year for our family as DeeDee experienced life-threatening Covid-Pneumonia and an 11-day hospital stay. Many of you prayer warriors supported us and prayed for us through that. God is so awesome and faithful, and He brought her home!
Today, a new fight has been brought upon her. Our mom has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
By the grace of God and many helpful friends/referrals, she was able to get accepted into the Mayo Clinic in Rochester in late June 2022. She has been surrounded by the incredible support of her treatment team and our dad Jerry who has attended every single treatment and driven every single mile to and from the Twin Cities to be present with her.
The treatment team has set up a plan for her to start an aggressive Chemotherapy regimen, as her cancer has metastasized rapidly. It has been found in almost every organ in her body aside from her heart and spleen. With this out-of-the-blue news and something no one is ever ready or prepared for - the hospital bills have started to come in. She has had to take an abrupt leave of absence from work which reduces her income, and our dad will not be able to complete his lawn-mowing business as much this summer.
Currently, our mom and dad are still digging themselves out from the Covid bills that came their way when she was hospitalized. Additionally, the out-of-network insurance costs, supplying gas for the drive to clinic visits to and from Rochester and Chemotherapy for the foreseeable future has created a massive financial need.
Many of you have asked, "How can we help?" or "What do you need?"
Our family is graciously and humbly asking for you to give in whatever way is applicable and meaningful to you.
Ways to support our family and DeeDee during this time:
Financially - Funds donated will go directly towards the bills that have mounted and continue to mount as treatment continues and becomes more frequent, gas and travel, and to compensate for the lack of an income.
Spiritually - We are a family of faith and prayer, believing that Jesus has already gone before her and taken care of her in all ways possible. We ask for continued prayer over the provision of her treatment team, her mental and emotional strength, protection from infection and the overall healing of her body.
Physically/Emotionally - We want to keep in touch with you! Please reach out to our mom/parents/family and check-in. Phone-calls are always appreciated!
This is not the way we anticipated 2022 to be, but here we are - holding steadfast to what God has planned for our mom and our family. We are so thankful for your continued prayers and support during this time!
Thank you & bless you all,
