SHATTER THE SILENCEMy sister was a victim of domestic violence. Murdered by her estranged husband. Witnessed by their 11 year old daughter and 9 year old son.
This spring I plan on hiking the American Discovery Trail (ADT), a coast to coast trail (from CA to DE). Along the way I will be stopping at women’s shelters to help encourage them and hopefully deter them from returning to their abusive relationship. The purpose of my GoFundMe is to help me make this incredible trek across country. I will need gear (tent, sleeping bag, water purifier, bear cannisters, etc), lodging (I will mostly be camping, but campgrounds can range in price from $10 a night to $50 a night), food and for unforeseen expenses, to name a few.
I have no time frame as to when I will finish. I believe it will take about a year or so and once I complete the ADT – I will head north to Maine – where I was raised and where my family resides.
The video I’ve attached to this gofundme provides the details of how I want to help women as I hike across country. I also have a longer and more detailed written version of my trials that have led me to the trails and to my photography.
Please - let’s put a stop to domestic violence. I can promise you – you know somebody, you’ve known somebody or you will know someone that has or will be impacted by domestic violence. Let’s not let this happen to your mom, your sister, your daughter.
