Dee Dee's Road to Recovery
Donation protected

Today, my dear friend Eva and I were out walking near Inwood Park and a large husky dog lunged at our beloved Dee Dee, a 10-year-old Pomeranian rescue Eva adopted from a shelter. Before her rescue, Dee Dee's previous life was traumatic, and her new life in our small friend group in Inwood has been deeply healing for her--up until now (part of why today was so painful). Dee Dee is family to my two young children, to our local friends, and she is beloved by all who meet her. A gentle little soul known for her cute little signature move: her tongue hanging down due to her lack of teeth.
The husky today, it shook Dee Dee like a rag-doll, tearing into her backside and the tender flesh on her belly, ripping it down to the bone. The damage is extensive, requiring both internal and external stitches. Luckily, we were able to get immediate, high-quality treatment at Inwood Animal Clinic. This was possible only by Eva taking out a high-interest line of credit to meet the costs. In addition to these direct costs, Eva will likely miss some time from work for upcoming appointments. Dee Dee's healing and care will be high-maintenance over the next several weeks as her wounds are complex, based on their location and severity.
If you are compelled to chip in whatever makes sense for you, it would make a big difference. Eva would never set up a gofundme herself, so I jumped in and did it on her behalf. Thank you in advance for helping be a part of Dee Dee's road to recovery.
We appreciate you.
