Decorate The Tree For Barb

The Sand Creek Student Government will be sponsoring a “tree lighting” that will take place Friday, December 18th at 6pm. This “lighting” will be live streamed. All proceeds of this event will go toward a local legend-Ms. Barb Sell. We are going to be selling paper bulbs (via a Go Fund Me campaign) in the shape of lights that will be hung in the school lobby window on our “giving tree.” On these bulbs, we will write your name (or the name of the person you would like to honor or remember). We will also have a virtual page that will be posted on the school Facebook page/school website which will detail your donation and the message you would like to share.

Prices follow:
$5: green bulb
$10: blue bulb
$15: purple bulb
$20: red bulb
$25+: you will get a present under the tree!

Information on the beneficiary of this campaign: Ms. Barb Sell
Sadly, on November 19, a wonderful woman saw her world burn down. In the cloak of darkness, a blaze started in Ms. Barbie’s barn. The barn went up in flames, along with 40,000 books housed inside. The fire spread to her house burning all her memories and belongings. Some of these memories included her beloved father’s possessions. He had sadly passed away when Barb was only a young child. It also warped the siding of the only library we have in Sand Creek: Read It and Reap Library. This library was started to serve the children and residents of the community who may not have had access to these resources otherwise. Ms. Barbie is one of the kindest women you will ever meet. She is a cat and book lover. Plus, she is amazing with kids! She even helps with Sunday school at the Sand Creek Church. She is always there to support her community so now it's time to help support her! We aren’t asking for much, just a small donation to give back to a woman who has given so much to our community.
