Decklan’s battle with RRP

We are asking for help for a dear family friend April and her son Decklan. At the age of 3, Decklan was diagnosed with Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis (RRP). RRP is a rare disorder that causes wart-like growths in the respiratory tract. The growths build up and restrict his breathing and ability to speak.

  Since 2015, Decklan has had over 30 surgeries, and will continue to have surgery every 4 weeks. Decklan is only a kindergartener and has to miss school because of his surgeries and the recovery associated with them.
 
  Recently Decklan had a battle with walking pneumonia that restricted his breathing so bad he was rushed to the hospital. The doctors have made the decision to keep him in the hospital until the next surgery, or maybe even longer.
     
  Decklan’s parents are currently looking into sending him to a new doctor for a second opinion. The family is looking at other RRP specialist that will require them to travel across state. Decklan is one of three children, and for the family to send Decklan to a new specialist it will take a huge toll on the whole family. Not just emotionally, but financially as well. The copays from surgery each month have piled up and will continue to grow, since there is no end to having surgery’s anytime soon.
   
  The Taggart family has always been generous and loving to those around them. Now, they need your help for medical costs, travel costs, and other unexpected costs.
