Deby Smith's Medical Bills

Donation protected
Deby Smith is a dedicated mother and wife. She has worked hard for her family and has recently retired to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and husband. On November the 18th Deby had a heart attack and was rushed to Brigham Hospital for treatment. Due to the severity of her condition she required immediate surgery. To get the care that she required she was transferred to Ogden Regional Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery to save her life. The surgery was a success, however, there were complications and it did not go as planned.  In between the time of her surgery and when they discovered that there was a problem she suffered massive internal bleeding. She was again rushed into surgery to have the damage repaired. Between the blood loss and the effects of her heart attack she also began to suffer from infection. The next several days were spent administering blood transfusions and lots of antibiotics. When they felt it was safe to wake her up, she did not come up liked they hoped. On November 21 Deby had an MRI done, and the results showed that she had multiple strokes. They also found oxygen deprivation in her brain. The severity of this is still unknown. On the 22nd of November, they ran several tests on her brain to see what areas may have been affected. More tests, and more bills. Her blood pressure has spiked in the 200's and she had developed a fever that took several days to get under control. This tragedy has left her family shocked and worried. On November 29th Deby's family was brought some good news, tests were taken that morning (MRI and an EEG) and the doctors were seeing small improvements. As it stands we still don't know when she will wake up, or what condition she will be in when she does wake up. It is possible that she will need  constant in-home care, or to be placed in a long term care facility, there is no way to know just what kind or how much care she will need until she wakes up. For now weeks of constant intensive care through multiple hospitals has the bills racking up. As she is retired her family is on a fixed income and her insurance is the government set plan. Please help her family in this time of need, anything that you can offer will help in getting Deby the care that she so desperately needs. Please open up your hearts and give to a worthy cause so that Deby can see her Children and Grandchildren grow. Thank you for your time, prayers, and donations.
