On February 28th, 2020 Debin received heart wrenching news that many young women never expect to hear. At the age of 27, Debin has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Specifically, she has been diagnosed with stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.
At her age, most women are financially planning for their dream wedding, their first child, or their first home. As we all know life presents challenges that we could not imagine, but the beauty in life is when we all come together and sacrifice for friends, loved ones, or even people we haven't yet been blessed to know.
For those of you who do not personally know Debin, she is the light in the room. She is also the most independent, strong headed, stubborn girl that would never ask for help; however, she would be the first person to go out of her way to be there when someone else is in need. As much as she wanted to keep this in and deal with this on her own, we are asking people to help.
Debin is the most generous soul, always going the extra mile to put others before herself. Her passion for others is reflected in her own career path as a dental hygienist focused on the oral health and livelihood of the patients she has treated thus far. Her path in dentistry only continued after dental hygiene school when she paved her own way to get her Master of Science in Dental Hygiene Education in 2018. Upon graduation, Debin stepped into a leadership role for dental hygienists where she exemplifies her generous spirit and leadership skills daily, and is only at the beginning of her long and promising career in dentistry.
Debin’s amazing qualities are only mirrored by her incredible family who have always supported her needs and desires throughout her life. Her parents, Dr. Lee Warren, DDS and Mrs. Debbie Warren, and her siblings, Dr. Blaire Warren, DDS and Dr. Robert Warren, DDS, are also incredibly talented and so present in the dental community. Though the Warren family is so strong and supportive, they could never have prepared for this kind of news. In these unexpected and trying times, both Debin and the Warren family are in need of support of the dental community among others.
Debin will be going through extensive chemotherapy for many months. Surgery and radiation to follow. With every appointment there is a cost. There are many out of pocket costs. With every visit, every treatment there is a cost waiting that she couldn't prepare for. No 27 year old girl would ever prepare for.
Whether it is prayer, support, or helping offset the cost associated with the diagnosis, she is thankful. We will never understand why God placed this onto Debin's path, but we will remain faithful just as HE always has been. Please pray for health, strength, and spirit through this journey.
