Deb. Sierra '14 GMAC Cotillion

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Sierra Johnson and it is an honor to announce that I have been selected as a 2014 Debutante of the Greater Metro Atlanta Chapter of Jack and Jill, Inc. of America. I will be presented to society in our Inaugural Leadership Program and Debutante Cotillion Ball on Dec 20, 2014.

As a Debutante, I will participate in educational, cultural, and community service activities, while campaigning for scholarships towards my post-secondary education. In addition, a portion of the proceeds support the Jack and Jill of American Foundation and the many philanthropic and community service projects they fund throughout the country. It would be an honor to have you assist me in meeting my financial goal of raising $5,000.

And now, a little about me . . . I am a Junior at the Atlanta Girls’ School where Math, Chemistry, Physics, and Spanish are my strongest subjects. During my sophomore year, I maintained a 3.9 GPA and was inducted into the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars. I have been awarded the prestigious Atlanta Girls’ School Scholar Award for year’s 2013 and 2014. As a Student Ambassador and member of the AGS Head Strong Club, I work with the Head of School to market the school and student-led activities within the school and outside to the community. I am a year-round athlete, and compete on the AGS Varsity Cross-Country and Track and Field teams.

I am an Ambassador Girl Scout with the Ben Hill Service Unit. I co-authored my Silver Award project, “Healthy Living: Proper Nutrition” in 2012, which educated elementary and middle school children on proper food choices and the importance of having a balanced meal. In addition to the Silver Award, I was recognized by The Girl Scout Council with the Young Woman of Distinction Award. I am currently working toward my Gold Award.

I enjoy community service and philanthropic activities. In the fall of 2013, I co-founded the ABC, 123 Club which is dedicated to empowering and mentoring the youth of Metro Atlanta by partnering with local organizations for fundraising, donations and volunteer work. As an active member of the GMAC Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and Ben Hill United Methodist Church, I have participated in many community service activities. They include Trinity Table, Angel Tree, Touching Hearts, Project Open-Hand, Books for Africa, March of Dimes, Backpack and School Supplies Drive, and various book and toy drives for the Walter Young YMCA. For my community service efforts, I received the 2013 Presidents’ Volunteer Service Award, the 2014 Ben Hill UMC Martin Luther King, Jr Youth Service Award, and the Atlanta Girls’ School 2014 Upper School Service Award.

In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music and watching movies. I am the older sister to Camryn Johnson and the daughter of Sherri Shelton-Johnson and Billy Johnson.

As you can see, I am very active, have high aspirations to attend college after graduating from high school and I need your help to make my dreams come true. I have established several scholarship donation levels for contributions to my campaign. If you desire to support my Debutante Fundraising Campaign, you may select any one of the donation levels or contribute any other amount, all contributions are welcomed!

And one last thing, bookmark my site so that you can follow me on this journey throughout the year. I will have updates on my fundraising events, community service projects, and other fun activities.

Sincerely,
Sierra Johnson
