Debra's Recovery

Hi All,
As some of you know on June 23th our mom, Debra Anderson, collapsed due to severe back pain, unable to move.  After being rushed to Augusta Medical Center in Waynesboro and receiving preliminary treatment, it was established that she was suffering from an aortic dissection which required immediate surgery. She was transferred to the medical facilities at the University of Virginia, where she received the emergency operation and is currently being cared for.
By God's grace, the aortic dissection was mended in time, but then a few days into her recovery, she began running a high fever. Her doctors ran various tests and said that she had  contracted a staph infection due to a dirty IV needle. On June 5th, mom underwent a 2nd surgery to remove the pocket  of infection at the IV site.

While she is receiving some aid to ease the heft of the hospital bill, she will not be released  until her doctors are assured she can continue her 6-week antibiotic treatment at home. The antibiotics and periodic bloodwork total $15,700 and must be paid before she is released!

Our mom is so anxious to come home and recover in the company and care of her family. We are reaching out to friends, family,  co-workers, and everyone in between to pitch help us bring our mom home.  Funds will be used to cover the cost of the full antibiotic treatment and other hospital charges that accrue as she enters her 3rd week at UVA.

You have our heartfelt gratitude and blessing for whatever you are willing to contribute.

 Thank You!
