This is my Family my world my life...

Hello, my name is Deborah and I started this campaign to help cover and assist with medical expenses which may arise throughout my treatment and care. As I am the only income provider for my family there is little extra to go to this expense. I live in Hinesville Georgia and have to travel to Charleston SC. for all of my medical care and treatment.

The first picture you see of me was taken the day the doctors found out there was something wrong with my liver and spleen during an ultra sound while I was being treated for my heart condition; that day was June 29, 2017 (my 48th birthday). The letter I received in the mail of the ultra sound results stated:

ABNORMAL FINDINGS splenomegaly   Hepatomegaly Hepatosplenomegaly

Not knowing exactly what was wrong other than both my liver and spleen being abnormally enlarged, I was referred out to a specialist. This appointment took time to happen; close to a month... While waiting, labs were done to rule out any bacterial or viral infections that could be the cause, luckily those all came back negative.

On July 27, 2017, I drove to Charleston VA, met with the specialist, had more blood drawn, and had another special pressure test performed on my liver. As it was explained to me; normal liver pressures are single digits and mine are all high double digits across the board. This means my liver is damaged and it is bad, really bad.

My mind went blank for several minutes, I heard the words “stage 3 or stage 4 but we won’t know for sure until liver biopsies are performed.” I just stood there shaking my head yes agreeing with everything he said with tears running down my face (as they are again doing with me typing this). Then he asked if I had any questions…. I had only one… Am I going to die? He responded with providing me with percentage chances and numbers; my mind went blank and numb again. The 2.5 hr. drive home that day took me over 8 hrs. I was alone driving, crying, screaming, pulling over and praying...

On August 11, 2017, I have to travel back to Charleston for more tests; I have to eat a radioactive egg and drink radioactive orange juice.

On August 15, 2017, I again will travel back to Charleston this time I will check in to the VA hospital and at 8am on August 16, 2017 (my twin daughters 21st birthday); I will have my liver biopsies.

Depending on the results of the biopsies will determine the treatment forward. If the results come back stage 3, I was told I would be eligible for a liver transplant. However; if the results come back stage four; no liver transplant, no cure, radiation and chemo to extend my life as long as we can.

I will Never Ever Give Up…..
