Flute to finish Master's Degree!

Donation protected
$10 from 1,000 people!!!

I am a young music teacher who has gone back to school to get my master's in flute performance!  I taught high school choir right out of college and have spent the last 4 years working on my master's degree.

Over the last year, with the help of my professor, I have started back at the very beginning!  I've relearned how to hold the flute, how to blow, how to breathe, and even changed some fingerings!  I have been so priviledged to teach my 25 piano students on the weekends and use the weekdays to go to school and practice!  I'm using my entire paycheck to afford school.  I practice and play on my flute in ensembles at least 5-7 hours a day!  I am so pleased to say that every week, there is so much progress!

However, I have hit a wall...a figurative brick...no, concrete wall!  As I learn how to resonate to get a big sound, my flute pushes back and stops me.  If I push through it, my new beautiful sound leaves and a harsh, "blatty" sound comes through.  I have been selling my things to put into my flute fund, but I just have not been able to raise the money.  Every visiting flutist and flute professor who has heard me play has been surprized that I am still on my old flute! I even won the position of principle flute in the symphonic orchestra last semester!

Last semester for my "jury" (final flute exam), something happened to my flute and I played a friend's flute.  My professors on the jury wrote many comments about my beautiful sound and my progress! (they didn't know it was a flute 4 times the price of mine!)

On my 28th birthday, a friend told me about the "gofundme" website!  I was thrilled!  I believe that this will be the answer to help me to purchase a flute that I can use to audition for my doctorate degree!!

I am so thankful for helping to pay for my beautiful new flute that will take me into the professional music world!  If we can get 1,000 people to donate $10 each, we can meet the goal in no time!
