My name is Shelby and I am writing this on behalf of my mother, Debbie Pryor, and my father, Bobby Pryor.
Deborah "Debbie" Ruth Underwood Pryor was only 62 years old when she was called to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Debbie was devoted to her family. She was a patient mother, a playful grandmother, and a loving wife. She was a member of Church at the Cross in Grapevine, Texas. Debbie was happiest when spending time with others, relaxing outdoors, reading, coloring, watching Nascar, and playing slot machines. Debbie's favorite holiday was Thanksgiving.
Debbie spent much of her last few years battling her many life threatening ailments such as heart disease, Parkinson’s disease, emphysema, and leukemia. These years were a true testament to her strength and will to live on and experience life to the fullest. After so much pain and suffering in her life from these debilitating illnesses, I am trying to help ease the financial burden on my family and help my mom rest in peace.
During this difficult time, we thank you all for your kind words, thoughts, prayers, and generosity.
Proceeds raised will be used to assist her husband, Bobby Pryor, and the Pryor family with necessary post-funeral expenses (e.g. purchasing a grave marker/headstone, cemetery marker setting fees, filing fees, etc.).
This, as you can imagine, has been an extremely trying time for our family. Over the last month, we spent nearly every day at the hospital watching Debbie fight for her life. After she passed, it has been a whirlwind of paperwork and ever-mounting expenses.
Due to Debbie's many health problems, she was ineligible for a large traditional life insurance policy. The policy she did qualify for was spent towards a portion of her funeral services expenses. Now, we have very little time in which to gather funds to pay for the remainder of her final resting expenses.
My father, Bobby, is struggling after a lengthy and extremely costly medical battle he helped Debbie to fight for many years. He runs an independent business where if he does not work that day he does not earn an income. He missed large chunks of work spending time with my mother at the hospital during her final weeks of life and is facing many post-funeral expenses. My father is extremely uncomfortable asking for money from anyone for any reason. I would not be asking for help unless our family was in great financial need. We are asking that you please donate anything that you can in order to help ease the financial burden for Debbie’s grave marker/headstone and post-funeral expenses.
I will handle all funds raised from this campaign and see that they are spent only on my mom’s final resting expenses.
