Debbie Groth: A Dedicated Teacher In Need

Donation protected
Being a teacher is a selfless and difficult job during the best times. Being a teacher in 2020 has been even more difficult. It takes an extraordinary  person to do that job and Debbie Groth is nothing but extraordinary.

In early October, Debbie, a 2nd grade teacher, began having sudden and excruciating lower back pain with no known reason. She ended up going into the Emergency Room via ambulance as she suddenly couldn’t walk more than a couple steps. They admitted her that night and found on an MRI the next day that her L5/S1 vertebrae was herniated. After a month of trying many different treatments for the pain and lack of mobility they had to do surgery. During the surgery they also found a ruptured disc that had broken into chunks and was told would never have healed without surgery and removing all of that debris.

Recovery didn’t happen as planned either. She developed multiple DVTs (Deep Vein Thrombosis), also known as blood clots, in her legs. A very large one which currently goes from her left knee to her foot. She is still fighting this, trying to recover, and still unable to go back to work due these medical complications.

Debbie is the sole provider in her family as her husband has been battling a brain tumor that surgeons weren’t able to remove 7 years earlier. He hasn’t been able to work since.

We would appreciate your donation to provide relief to her family and their growing financial needs. This includes medical bills now and in the foreseeable future, their mortgage, and her student loans.
