Lung and Brain Cancer Fund
Hello Friends and Family- it’s with great sadness to deliver the news that my mom, Debbie, has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Malignant Neoplasm of the Brain, in other words, Brain Cancer. A few weeks ago, my mom went to the ER for ongoing severe headaches where they did a CT scan and found a very large mass on her brain. She was to follow up with the Oncologist in Webster the following week. In doing so, this is where her diagnosis was confirmed so she will now need to undergo more testing this coming Thursday, Jan 9th to determine if there is any other forms of cancer throughout her body so we can determine a plan of action. She will be receiving a CT of her chest, pelvis and abdomen and unfortunately, Debbie doesn’t have health insurance, so all of these costs are coming out of their own pocket.
We normally are not the type to ask for this sort of help but each doctor visit is $250 (each week), each scan is $250 and she will have 4 done as of Thursday totaling $1000 out of pocket, plus medications of $100 so far and Uber trips to and from. We are hoping to raise at least enough to cover her out of pockets for meds and scans for now. The ER visit of $4500 is not our main focus at this time, even though it would be nice, that bill is not a high priority since it can be paid later. We are more concerned with all the out of pocket they are having to come with last minute for these tests.
Debbie and Jaime have been living off one single income since last year when she was hospitalized with Sepsis and never was able to fully recover and couldn’t return to work. At this time we don’t have a complete path forward until we get the other 3 scans done this Thursday, but we are trying to stay as positive as possible and we are asking everyone to help pray for complete healing of my mother. We are truely at a loss and I’m constantly asking myself how this happened but the harsh reality is you never truely have control. We are heartbroken, pissed off, confused, sad and so many other indescribable emotions!! if you cannot donate we understand, but please pray as hard as you can that she can fight this and over come this cancer.
