Debbi Rotolo's Recovery Fund

Donation protected

On January 4th, Debbi Rotolo was taken to the ER for what she thought was the flu.  What transpired over the next few hours would be the beginning of a seven-month fight for her life that is still ongoing and she needs your help.

The Fight of a Lifetime
Once at the ER, her situation declined rapidly forcing the medical staff to take drastic measures placing her on a ventilator and in a medically induced coma within hours of arrival.  It took 5 days of multiple tests and cultures before she was diagnosed with streptococcal pneumonia and sepsis.  The fight for her life began.

While she lay motionless over the coming weeks, breathing only with the aid of the ventilator, she and her infection were in a toe-to-toe, knockdown drag out battle.  At first, sepsis landed the heaviest of blows eventually being categorized as septic shock.  Patient survival rates for septic shock dip below 20%.  If you know Debbi, then you take those odds.  Through sheer determination, prayer and intense antibiotic treatments her infection started to subside.

The Aftermath
As her prognosis slowly improved it became apparent the toll it had on her body and how far she still had to go.  Her extremities had swelled, rupturing her skin, to keep her blood supply focused on her vital organs.  As a result, her fingers and thumb on her left hand along with half of both feet could not be saved and were amputated during separate procedures over the coming months.  After each surgery she was transferred to rehab facilities where she pushed through excruciating pain as she learned to adapt.

Help is Needed
As you can imagine, the financial toll this has taken is extreme.  They are shackled with medical bills that continue to arrive daily and a house in need of modifications as it is not easily accessible with her disabilities.

John and Debbi Rotolo have a history of quietly helping others at times of need and they are struggling with the idea of being on the receiving end.  If you have a few extra dollars donate now to send some of the good they have put out into the world back to them.  They deserve it.
