Deb Joneck Medical Recovery Fund

Deb Joneck is the person who brings the energy to the game and the inspiration to the team. Known for her “can do” attitude, Deb has spent her career as a servant leader. Whether in her role as an FNGLA chapter leader, on the FNGLA state board or various state committees, Deb shows up. Not only with enthusiasm, but with a game plan, pep talk, critical data and more.

She has long been an important conduit between the ag industry and local water management districts - always stepping up to help lead local advocacy. Deb is a great cheerleader/drink cart driver for FNGLA chapter golf and fishing tournaments. Her influence benefits many sectors of Florida’s agriculture industry, including nursery and greenhouse, landscape contracting, cattle operations and more.

Deb not only shows up to make a positive difference, she does so with a fun and friendly manner. Whether she’s sharing important information, advocating on behalf of the industry or telling a wild tale, Deb’s North Carolina drawl brings charm to all her words. She’s never been afraid to speak her mind, yet does so to help clarify situations and keep a positive momentum going.

Deb was celebrating with her FNGLA friends and family at the recent FNGLA Annual Convention in St. Augustine, when she felt weak, eventually being taken by ambulance to the local hospital. She was then airlifted to Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville for the care she needed. Knowing how vibrant and people-loving Deb is, it is hard to think of her as less than her active self and isolated due to a brain hemorrhage.

While medical diagnosis and care continue for Deb, she has made some progress. She is breathing on her own, has some movement and understanding. While these situations often involve long periods for recovery and rehabilitation, we know Deb will not give up on herself -- and neither will we.

Even with insurance, medical emergencies and long-term care are expensive. Deb is a person who has spent her life giving. We now ask those who can - to give what you can - to help defray these extraordinary costs. All monies will go toward Deb’s medical costs for recovery and needed services for rehabilitation.
