Dear Reader,
Five years ago, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with severe cellulitis and edema in my lower limbs, a consequence of an improperly treated infection. This condition has left me grappling with intense pain, swelling, and significant deformation of my legs below the knees. The aftermath has been a series of subsequent infections that have led to multiple hospitalizations over the years.
My world has transformed into a landscape of potential threats, as I must avoid any contact that could cut or abrade my skin, risking life-threatening bacteria entering my bloodstream. The simple act of walking has become a challenge, often accompanied by severe pain. The constant fear of stepping on something that could break the skin is a real and ever-present danger.
The most mundane tasks, like checking my mailbox or going to the market, have become insurmountable challenges. My condition and inconsistent mobility have significantly hampered my self-reliance. The prospect of using an electric wheelchair represents a beacon of hope. It would not only be liberating but also significantly enhance my quality of life, granting me the mobility to accomplish tasks that currently require the assistance of others.
However, the financial hurdle of acquiring a suitable mobility device, which costs between $1500 and $2000, has been insurmountable. Living on a low fixed monthly income, I simply lack the financial resources for such an expense. The recent loss of my caregiver has further compounded my isolation.
I humbly appeal for any assistance in securing the finances to purchase an electric wheelchair. This device would be a lifeline, enabling me to navigate life more independently despite my health challenges.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
Sincerely,
Robert P.
