Deakin's spinal cord injury journey

Hi Everyone, Deakin suffered a life changing accident on the 11th December when he fell approximately 30ft from a tree. Whilst Deakin was incredibly lucky to survive this fall, he broke his C6 vertebrae, shattered his C7 and cracked his T1 also. Deakin is currently going through rehab at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children and has a diagnosis of Tetraplegia. He has no feeling below his nipples and whilst he has some movement of his arms, his fingers are paralysed also. The journey ahead of him to getting home and functioning in day to day life is not only going to be incredibly tough, more than we could ever know, but it is also going to be incredibly expensive. We are asking for your generosity in whatever you can spare. Whilst we don't know the full cost of what Deakin is going to need yet, we know that he is going to need a house modified, he is going to need specialist equipment for simple day to day activities that you or I take for granted. Deakin's mum, Sammy, is a single mum who is trying to hold down a full-time job in Nannup whilst spending every weekend in Perth with Deakin. As you can appreicate this causes significant financial strain.
