Hello friends. A wonderful family very dear to me could use support and generosity in helping their son recover from 2nd and 3rd degree burns. A lot of people have shown interest in helping, so I wanted to post this for them in their time of need. Thank you. The following is words from the family...
On November 30, our son, Ben, was burned on 28% of his body after a gas can explosion at our house in Northern Virginia. He was careflighted to an ICU burn unit in DC.
He has had two surgeries so far.
We are deeply touched by all who have expressed interest in donating, here is what we know so far:
1. We do have medical insurance but do not know the deductible and extent of coverage at this time.
2. There is some damage to the outside of our house and will know the insurance coverage and deductible this week.
3. The general timeline for a burn recovery hospital stay is 1 day per burn percentage, so 28 days.
We are very grateful for the first responders, medical team, our family, friends and coworkers and your expressions of love, food, generosity and prayers.
We will keep you updated as the situation develops.
