In August of 2009 I broke my neck at the beach in a diving accident, (vertebrae C3, C4, C5 complete which means I have 0% chance of regaining full function of my body). My accident left me paralyzed from the chest down, I'm a quadriplegic which means I have no use of my fingers and triceps. My doctors told me it is "physically impossible for me to ever walk again".

When my accident occurred I was a 20 year old tending my junior year of college. My diagnosis shattered me but with help from GOD, support from family and friends, I'm bound and determined to make what my doctors told me a false statement.

This anonymous testimony really resonated with me and this is exactly how i look and try to live my life.

On the day of my accident 5 years ago "a part of me died yet at the same time another part of me was reborn. What’s the one thing you gain from losing everything? Perspective! It isn't about if my glass is half empty or half full. No, I'm grateful that I have a glass and I know it is up to me to fill that glass".

Due to my injury I can not drive a regular vehicle, I need the floor to be lowered, I need to have hand controls installed, along with a ramp, and more. I'm having a hard time finding a job, paying for school, medical bills and doing daily activities such as meeting up with friends, shopping and the regular things that so many people take for granted. I am currently using public transportation for the elderly and the disabled but it has its challenges. It is unreliable at times and it does not allow me to travel farther than The Pioneer Valley without exhausting logistics.

The cost of adaptive medical equipment for somebody with my injury is extraordinary. Just for example, the modifications & equipment needed to get me from my wheel chair into bed can cost as much as $5,000. Power wheel chairs can cost as much as $15,000. Bathroom modifications, the need for a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), are just a few challenges I face  due my injury.

As hard as it is for me to admit, my medical bills, living expenses are becoming to burdensome for just myself and my family to handle. Anyone that knows me knows how hard it is for me to ask, but I need you help.

Please help if you are able to. Any amount you can afford would be very generous and I would be so grateful. THANK YOU
