2:38 am lying in a hospital bed at duke medical center in Durham North Carolina waiting for a craniotomy - a 10 hour surgery with world renowned neuro surgeon Dr. Allan Freedman. Ive been on FB for almost seven years and have been pretty private - but I'm facing the toughest battle of my life tomorrow and all due to a melanoma diagnosis in 2094 when I was pregnant with my son William. This will be my 10th and most significant surgery. I've been a professional cancer patient for ten years at Dana farber and Yale Smilow cancer center. I have endured radiation and avast in injection therapy for nearly ten years. I'm tired and I'm worn out. I've been chewed up and spit out by the insurance and the medical profession. ... My Avastin treatments are 22k a pop. ... I am not looking for your sympathy. ... I ask you to put positive vibes out there so I pull through this operation for my kids who have to deal with a mom with cancer. Thank you for your support.
