Hi everyone, I hope you’re doing well.

As some of you might know, I got really sick at the end of last year. I was going days without being able to eat or drink—I could barely manage to swallow my own saliva, and I also had a stabbing pain in my side. Because of all of this, I had to unfortunately withdraw from classes for the semester. Within the last month and a half, I’ve had 4 visits to the ER. The first two times, I was kind of written off and lumped in with people suffering from the stomach flu. The third time I went in was the most serious. I was having an intensely sharp pain in my side, I hadn't eaten or had anything to drink in 46 hours, and I was going in and out of consciousness. All I remember was talking to my dad in my head because I thought I was going to die. That day, I had an ultrasound of my gallbladder, and the doctor didn’t find any stones, so he called in another doctor to talk to me. That doctor suspected that my gallbladder was having functional issues, but couldn’t say for sure.  After that visit, I was okay for a few days, and then last week, my stomach turned again. I spent all of last Friday night throwing up, and as soon as I thought I was okay, the wind was knocked out of me and my chest started to feel like it was on fire, so we rushed to the hospital again. The ER doctor that treated me, immediately referred me to a GI specialist, and I met with him on Monday. After talking with him, he scheduled me the next day for upper and lower endoscopies. He was shocked by my results because my intestines and stomach looked normal.  After reviewing my symptoms and past test results, he said that I needed to get my gallbladder removed asap. He texted one of his colleagues and scheduled an appointment for the next day. So, I’m having emergency gallbladder removal surgery early next week. I just got insurance a few days ago, so none of my ER visits, procedures, or doctors’ appointments from the last two months have been covered. My insurance is only covering a small percentage of my surgery expenses, and the only money my family has saved up is supposed to be used for me and my brother’s college tuition. I absolutely need this surgery, but have no way to pay for it, my follow up appointments, and my prescriptions.

Thank you so much in advance for donating and/or sharing this. I appreciate it so very much.
