This fundraiser is for my mother, a 82 year old grandmother of 10 living in Germany. She is the sweetest woman you have ever met and all her live she has been doing nothing but helping others. She volunteered for the suicide hot line always taking the night shifts and weekends/holidays, she volunteered at the psych ward, the museum, for the Syrian refugees, in therapy painting/pottery classes, did free marionette shows, volunteered reading to little ones, and I cannot remember what else. My mom was always there for us, sewed clothes for us, created meals out of nothing, taught us so many things, and was always supporting all of us when child care was needed or money was tight.
My mom has come to visit every other year for 25 years, but her age is catching up and this summer will most likely be her last visit with us in Marquette, MI.
This lovely lady, who lost her husband (age58), her youngest son(age 40), and just last summer her second oldest son(age 59), has never asked for anything. However, for 25 years she had a dream. She would have loved to visit Isle Royale and see the moose and maybe a wolf or two. This summer is my last chance to make her dream come true -she so deserves it. I will financially do whatever I can to make it possible, but I need some help. currently I am still paying on the trip home last summer to attend my brother's funeral and spend the rest of the summer with my mom. I
One has to book early for Isle Royale National Park. I tried this morning to get the cheapest option, but all that was left for the time when she is here is the weekend package. The trip is booked and every penny raised in the campaign will go toward it.
I cannot pay her back all the things she has done for me, but I can make one dream come true for her.
This spirited lovely lady has never given up on anything and I won't either!
I learned from my mom what goes around comes around. I will continue to try to help others and ask your help to make it come around for her. It would mean the world to me to make her happy!
