Danielle was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in her nasal passage, at the base of her skull, in April of 2018. Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC) to be exact. ACC is a rare type of cancer. So much so, we've found it is radiation- and chemo-resistant. In other words, there's not enough data to prove it will be successful. It's operable, but one of the two surgeries planned is VERY invasive and the risks seem to outweigh the benefits when you think about quality of life. There's gotta be another way! Even with health insurance, the bills are still mounting every day. Numerous consultations and travel to renowned hospitals like Sloan Kettering in NYC must also be accounted for. Then there’s not nearly enough paid leave at work. We're creating this fundraiser campaign in hopes to help reduce the financial burden off during our battle to fight ACC!
