Funeral For a Friend

My dad really was something different. He was jock, once upon a time. He was a poet (mostly dirty limericks).  He was a lover and a fighter. He was prankster and a joker, a father and a friend. To this day I'm not sure if he knew everyone on the planet, or if he was just naturally able to strike up conversations with random strangers as if they were long lost friends. He was the kind of guy that seemed out of place in the modern world, I don't think I ever saw him use a computer and he almost never answered his cell phone.
     There really aren't words to describe what he meant to the world. It's impossible to sum up the impact he had on all of us. He taught me lessons that I'll never forget both good (Right is right and Wrong is Wrong he used to say) and bad (It's not cheating if you don't get caught referring to horseshoes with his buddies every Sunny Summer Sunday).  We didn't always see eye to eye, but I'm sure that's true for everyone that knew him. He was a good guy, not perfect but who is anyways?
     There's one other fact that I'm sure most of you knew. My dad was also terrible with planning, budgeting and finance. He never shared details of his personal finances with me so as we prepare to say goodbye to him I have no idea what I'm walking into. What I do know is that the final expenses are not cheap. I won't share an exact number, but I will say that they are far more than I can cover on my own.  

I hate to ask this, I really do. He'd hate that I'm asking too, but if you all could help us out here it would mean a lot to me, it would mean a lot to his memory. Anything helps, all collected funds will be used to cover expenses related to his cremation and final expenses. 

He will be sorely missed by his wife Renee, myself, his family and all of his friends (he would have called most of them family).
