Will Not Give Up The Move

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Daniel N. and this is my dearest Jen F.

If you know me personally, then you must know someone had to put me up to this gofundme venture. I give that credit to my dear friend Anna W., helping to support and guide me even from afar and after so many years. Even offering to help extend this page far beyond the states, and internationally.

Anna, I cannot express how much your help means to me. We only knew eachother in person for a few shorts years, and a many years ago at that. The fact you still care enough to help me after so long lifted my spirits more than you will ever know.

I have endured a long distance relationship with Jen, an astounding art teacher (and dare I say future wife) for the better part of 2 years. All plans and savings were arranged for me to move across states and finally start our lives together. All that was need was to rent a van, load it up, drive it up to Colorado, we both fly back, roadtrip in my car together all the way home. Simply lovely.
Then life's little "hiccups" started to happen.
I canceled my renters insurance at the end of February. I would be leaving mid March. No good in spending money that may be needed else where right?
March 5th: The process begins. Packing, selling furniture, saying goodbye's while still working the 40hr week. Every penny counted.
March 7th: Found someone to take the washer and dryer off my hands. They'll be by to pick it up today. I go to disconnect the hose from the wall. On the first turn, the pipe inside the wall gives, breaks, and shoots water at full pressure. The laundry room, kitchen, and walls between appartments begins to flood. Luckly response times were quick, damage was minimal. But as I have no renters inssurance, I will have to pay the bill out of pocket. An estimate of damages should arrive in 1 to 2 weeks. :( I revised my budget, so long as the bill isn't a month's worth  rent, I should be fine.
March19: Last day of work. Last day of income.
March 21: The move. After a (ridiculous in my opinion) security measure barring my payment with a car rental agency, I was forced to rebook with another, one that WOULD accept cash or debit. Alas, it was for a smaller vehicle, at a greater price :-/.
March 23: Upon arriving at my new home, I was pleased to be stuck inside with my darling for a whole day, as a blizzard had struck . Though time spent together was sweet and long awaited, it turned sour apon adjusting plans again. However, I was not pleased that our flight back was cancled, or that I had to extend my lease on the car for another 24hrs.
One ticket was refunded, one transferd for a flight the next day. To purchase a second ticket now ment paying 3x original price due to such short notice and full flights. The airlines appoligized profusely, and even upgraded the remaining ticket to 1st class. But when an International Airport shuts down for a day, there are thousands of people that need to be transfered. And there was nothing better to be done of it, not without draining the already strained budget that is
Then, I received word from my mother back in Austin. I had left her my carkeys over the trip, and while running an errand with it, the check engine light came on. She told me not to worry as she would take it to the shop for me, and just wanted to give me a heads up.
Jen needing to be back in time for school, and the budget was already getting tight. I would have to make the second leg of this trip alone. :(

March 25: After a relaxing sleep in what is likely to be the only time I will ever fly first class, I arrived in Austin to take on whatever car troubles I may be in for. And sure enough, it was running smooth again. I paid the $500 bill with a wince, as this was the last bit of savings to be spent. The rest was set aside for next months rent at my new home, and the bill for damages at my old home. With only enough left over to make the drive one more time, money for food, and no set income for this juncture, I had to make this work.
Driving away from the shop, I make it 10 miles before the engine light comes back on. I am not happy, but the mechanics are more than willing to take it back and see what's what.
March 26: Shop calls, car is running smooth again, come pick it up free of charge. Drive it away, light comes on.
This time the mechanics are not happy. They dont know what is causeing this, and it is now insulting their work.

March 27: Shop calls and says they cannot find the underlying problem. The cylinder is intermittently loosing compression. They will keep working on it until they can find something.
I'm supposed to be starting my new life today. Jen is taking these hiccups with grace and is helping every way she can think of. Must be why she's a good teacher. Thankfully my new boss is equally understanding, and not letting these postponements effect my future employment.
Life in a half empty appartment with less than half my belongings and no vehichle is a dull life indeed with such stresses on the mind. It times such as these when you see who you have truely surrounded yourself with. And I have found many goodhearted and kind souls around me. And I am truly thankful for them. Only they could make such a dark time feel so bright.

March 29: The bill comes in for the burst water pipe damages. 4 units effected, $1,750.00, to be paid in full by the end of the lease on April 17th.
The shop calls and says there is nothing they can do short of replacing the engine.  They talked down a guy on  an engine and can do the replacement for another $3000. But, would take a few days to get here, and a few more to put it in. Could expect my car back early next week.

Commence complete mental breakdown.

With the help of dearest friends and family I've remained hopeful. This move WILL happen, and I will have my new life with Jen. :)
And so, I ask for your help. The same help I would give any of you should you but ask.

So please, to everyone, if you can, if you may, donate to my cause. To my move. To our new life together. And share this with whomever you feel the urdge to.

Thank you for your support during this trying time.
