My name is Ben Crandall and I am a Biblical Studies major entering into my senior year at Biola University. It has been an absolute joy to study God's word during my time at Biola so far, and under the instruction of some truly incredible professors, I have gained knowledge I am convinced I could not have received anywhere else. Through my study of the Bible at Biola, my passion for Jesus' Church has grown, and my desire to serve his people has been strengthened. The knowledge that I have already received, and will continue to secure in my last school year at Biola is invaluable, and will equip me to engage in constructive ministry so that many may come to know the great name of Jesus Christ. It has always been my vision to serve the Church in this way, and through my education at Biola University, this vision has only been reinforced.
Unfortunately, this vision may not become a reality due to some regrettable financial circumstances.
In previous years, I have been incredibly blessed to receive the necessary financial aid I have needed to continue my college education. This year however, my circumstances are vastly changed. Due to some very unfavorable financial decisions my family has had to make, I now have a substantial gap of 5,047 dollars in this semester’s financial aid package. This results in a 10,094 dollar deficit for the whole school year.
The past month or so has been a roller coaster ride of financial aid meetings and paperwork trying to figure out how exactly my last year at Biola will work out, and unfortunately it looks like I may have reached a dead end.
THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN.
The God of the Universe is sovereign over all, even a substantial financial deficit. Through the gracious acts of His people, Jesus can and does accomplish all sorts of miraculous things. I am asking you to join me on my mission to serve Jesus' church by helping me finish my last year at Biola University.
By receiving a degree in Biblical and Theological studies from Biola I will, by God's grace, be a strong leader for the purposes of His church. Through the completion of my training at Biola I will have a well-rounded understanding of biblical and theological issues common in our churches today. I will also be able to handle the Bible in a way that will allow me to preach and teach the good news of Jesus Christ to those in our churches.
God encourages the Israelites in Joshua 1:9 by saying "Have I not Commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
Jesus says to his disciples in John 16:33, "I have said these things to you that you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But Take heart; I have overcome the world."
God reminds the Israelites not to fear, because He has a great plan for them, and will be with them wherever they go. I know that He is with me just the same. Similarly, through his conversation with the disciples, Jesus reminds us that the problems of this world are not of our concern. Just as Jesus has overcome the world, I know that God can overcome my financial needs, too.
I need not fear, but my financial needs will not be met if people do not rally together to give towards Jesus' mission! I have been given enough via this gofundme campaign and other scholarships to be enrolled. But there are still funds to raise for next semester.
Anything that you can give would help me tremendously. If all of MY OWN Facebook friends gave just 11 dollars a person, my tuition gap for the entire school year would be PAID FOR. Done-zo! Finished! Complete! But those are only the people I can personally reach; give my page a share on Facebook, or post it on Instagram and my reach could easily triple.
So brothers and sisters, lets do this! Help me finish my very last year of undergraduate education at Biola University by donating to my cause!
