STEAM PROJECT: Imagination Station 4Innovation (IS4I)
Moore Elementary School is located in the Brentwood Borough School District in the Pittsburgh area. Moore Elementary is a Title I school, which means it is in a high poverty area with students at high risk of falling behind academically. The school services 220 students. Moore School has really felt the impact of the state budget cuts, especially in the area of technology and 21st Century learning.
The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) educators at Moore Elementary have a goal to create a program that combines robotics and animation to increase our students’ sequencing skills, to strengthen comprehension, to foster the ability to creatively illustrate important main idea concepts, and to facilitate team work and group skills in a collaborative 21st Century learning opportunity.
We are looking to raise money to incorporate technology and innovation across all of the disciplines (science, art, music, technology, reading, math, writing, and library media). By employing robotics and animation tools, students will create a web based multimedia project, which will be published via social media.
Thank you for your consideration and supporting our students.
