DC Homeless matter

Donation protected
Hello everyone!! My name is Gwendolyn Wilson I’m born and raised in Washington DC , I’m the oldest of my 5 siblings. I have 4 daughters & 1 cat who I love dearly, I’m a Entrepreneur. I work hard towards my goals. In my spare time I help the homeless. For about 4 years now my children and I been serving the homeless in DC. During the summer we sale lemonade to provide for the homeless. People may ask why I start this movement? Well I tell you why. One day I was driving down the road and noticed a guy sleeping at the bus stop in southeast D.C , that guy was my brother my blood brother. The thought of knowing he’s at a bus stop broke my heart. So of course I took him in my home. It was hard to know and hear how he became homeless. Nothing stop me from being there. Not jail, or sickness kept me from praying / helping him along the way. With all my help my brother started volunteering at church. Directing the choir and cooking. But the streets kept calling him and that’s where he ended up again. Months later I received a call that my brother is in a hospital. He was sick . Once he was released my home was his home again This time he started working at Amazon, taking his meds. Being more independent. He move out into a all men’s shelter. I finally seen all the difference in him. All my coaching helped my brother. So I said if I can help him I can help all the homeless in the DMV area. So I started driving around DC counting the homeless and Jotting down the areas where they sleep. There are many tents in our communities. More then I ever seen in DC. I’m not comfortable at night knowing that our people are out there like that, cold and hungry. During this Recession everyone needs help. The mayor cut off DC homeless funds do to COVID-19. Clothes, shoes and more will help our people. Getting there Identification, birth certificate, and Social Security card is what I talk to them about hearing they story and knowing how much work is needed with each person. Helping 1 person at a time is the plan. My future goal is to buy a building right here in DC, shelter them and provide treatment In the facility, with your help we will get there. I pray God bless us all. Please donating Share This Movement is Necessary. The list is below . I can’t Thank you enough, This is what we are requesting for our people: Snuggle comforters, socks, hats, gloves , pillows and pillow covers, baby wipes, disinfect wipes, long sleeve shirts, wool pants, boots, bread and water.  Portable stoves, tents, plastic for the wind. 5,000 dollars is the goal it will help at least 40 DC homeless. Do your part and give what ever you can. Going forward remember the Future goals is shelter and treatment. Thank you Gwendolyn Wilson [email redacted]
