DC Filipino Fiesta for Typhoon Relief 2020

We are inviting the public to join us at Dacha Beer Garden in Navy Yard, Southeast Washington, DC this Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 12 to 8pm for a fiesta to raise funds for the typhoon relief in the Philippines. Reservations are available for parties up to 6 on Resy and are highly encouraged. 79 Potomac Ave SE Washington, DC
Chef Jerome Grant of Jackie Restaurant and Dacha Beer Garden will be joined by fellow Fil-Am chefs Paolo Dungca, Javier Fernandez of Kuya Ja's, and Tom Cunanan to create a fun "Christmas in the Philippines"-themed BBQ in the outdoor beer garden (in compliance with DC Covid-19 safety regulations.) Family-style food sampler boxes will be available for pre-order, takeaway, and delivery and à la carte ordering will also be available. A full pop-up menu will be previewed on social media in the coming days. Special Noche Buena Ensaymadas will also be available for pre-order and à la carte, baked in-house by Jackie pastry chef, Stephanie Milne. Proceeds from food sales will be donated directly.
The donations will be split between two organizations: Handang Tumulong, a New Jersey-based Filipino-American nonprofit dedicated to distributing relief funds to natural-disaster affected areas in the Philippines, and Project Pag-asa, a Philippines-based nonprofit focusing on helping vulnerable orphaned and endangered children in the Philippines access safe spaces and education. In addition to their main mission, Project Pag-asa (Tagalog for "Hope") has been distributing emergency relief supplies, mostly food, in the regions of Albay, Rizal, and Cagayan in response to the Typhoon disasters.
