Therapy for Nepali trafficked girls

My name is Emily, and I am a Registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist (DMP). I have traveled to Nepal in partnership with the nonprofit organisation, Promethean Spark International (PSI) to offer support to girls in a sex trafficking shelter. I am using the power of dance and movement to help the girls in their healing process. PSI is an organisation that uses dance to teach life skills to underprivileged youth around the world. In combination with the PSI method of life coaching through dance, I am offering psychotherapy through dance and movement to help with the psychological effects of trauma. This is a completely voluntary 5-month project, without stipend, grant or financial support of any kind. My expenses have included my flights to and from the US, visa fees, medical fees for necessary vaccines and medications, and professional supervision fees in accordance with the requirements of the Association of Dance Movement Psychotherapy to support and hold my therapeutic work.
Mental health support for marginalised populations is sadly underfunded, and I am counting on your donations to help me change the lives of these girls and young women. Any donation you can provide would be so greatly appreciated so that I may offer the maximum support possible to these girls for the full 5 months. All donations will go to cover my costs as I offer my voluntary services to the shelter.
About Emily:
Emily has BA degree in Psychology from Columbia University. Following her graduation, she pursued a career in professional dance in New York City. In 2014, she traveled to India with the nonprofit organisation, Promethean Spark International, in order to use dance to teach life skills to leprosy-affected youth. This inspired her to combine her love of dance with her interest and training in psychology. Emily completed her MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy at Roehampton University in London and is now a Registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist with the Association of Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK. Her research has focused on the facilitation of embodied agency in trauma survivors. She has worked with vulnerable populations and children and youth of all ages. About the Raksha Nepal shelter:
RN was established in 2004 for the mental, physical, economical and social protection of women, girls and children who are the victims of sexual violence, rape and forced prostitution. Since its establishment, it has been awakening the government to end all forms of violence and exploitation against women and children. Furthermore, RN has been involved in the rescue, protection, legal support, psycho-social counseling, health care free of cost and also has been leading the women and girls toward economic empowerment through income generating skills. About Promethean Spark International:
PSI is a nonprofit organisation that provides life coaching to impoverished youth around the world. PSI uses dance and the performing arts to teach essential life skills to those who don't otherwise have access to learning these skills, such as discipline, focus, goal setting, perseverance, leadership, and critical thinking. This is done in an experiential way so that the children and young people embody these skills as opposed to just learn about them.
